Responsibilities
- Lead the design, delivery, planning, and improvement of multiple systems as the technical lead for a full-stack software development team.
- Resolve competing priorities, provide level-of-effort estimates, and balance technical debt against feature delivery.
- Drive AI-first development practices using LLMs, agentic workflows, code-generation tools, and other AI technologies.
- Lead anomaly investigations, root-cause analyses, recovery plans, incident response, and regular business-hours on-call support.
- Mentor and train engineers on engineering techniques, code quality, system operation, and code review practices.
- Engage customers and product managers to identify pain points, validate solutions, and inform roadmap decisions.
- Lead process improvements and tooling development across team projects.
- Coordinate projects across organizations and represent the team as a primary contact.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of experience developing enterprise-grade distributed applications, including at least three years in a technical leadership role owning multiple systems and collaborating across teams.
- Advanced knowledge of full software development life cycle practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, security, testing, continuous integration and deployment, and system operation.
- Deep understanding of microservice architectures and containerized or serverless environments, including debugging complex distributed-service failures.
- Experience developing and operating AWS services with infrastructure as code.
- Experience integrating, evaluating, adopting, and coaching teams on AI-powered engineering tools and workflows.
- Advanced technical judgment for selecting methods, techniques, and architectural trade-offs for complex, ambiguous problems.
- Ability to lead through informal authority, mentor engineers, drive technical direction, and remain accountable for delivery outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Preferred qualifications include Java/Spring Boot, React/TypeScript, Python, data-intensive applications, streaming or event-driven architectures, AWS certification, regulated-environment experience, operational excellence initiatives, Generative AI systems, and manufacturing or aerospace experience.
