Responsibilities
- Verify that public-facing software meets business, functional, non-functional, and accessibility requirements.
- Perform static requirements testing and identify quality risks, accessibility impacts, and testability issues.
- Define testing scope, contribute to test plans and estimates, coordinate test activities, and manage test environments.
- Design, maintain, and execute manual and automated test cases based on user stories and Gherkin acceptance criteria.
- Develop technical tests for integrations, APIs, data flows, and functional dependencies, including API validations and SQL queries.
- Execute testing, log defects, collaborate with developers on fixes, and validate resolutions through retesting.
- Analyze test results and trends to identify recurring issues, quality risks, and defect-prevention opportunities.
- Use AI-powered QA tools and agents to support test design, execution, defect analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Support smoke, sanity, accessibility, and other release testing, providing evidence and quality status for go/no-go decisions.
- Support production defect triage, root-cause analysis, and fix verification.
- Maintain traceability among requirements, test cases, execution results, defects, and release evidence in Azure DevOps.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, QA communities of practice, process improvement, documentation, and sprint and release planning.
- Provide guidance and support to junior QA team members without formal people-management responsibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience and technical training.
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance and testing.
- Strong experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and solutions.
- Experience designing and executing complex manual and automated test cases.
- Experience testing integrations, APIs, and data flows.
- Strong knowledge of accessibility principles and experience validating public-facing applications against accessibility requirements.
- Experience with Azure DevOps or equivalent ALM tools for test management, traceability, and reporting.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and QA lifecycle, with strong experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Exposure to AI-driven or AI-assisted QA tools and technologies is preferred.
- Strong analytical, technical, problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and independent-working skills.
- Ability to adapt to changes in tools, processes, and methodologies and work effectively in a remote, distributed environment.
