Responsibilities
- Review software designs, test plans, and security controls against established standards.
- Maintain and evolve threat models and define or review controls for current and emerging risks.
- Assess, prioritize, and drive remediation of internal, external, and third-party vulnerabilities.
- Design and deliver secure-development training and promote a security culture across engineering teams.
- Serve as the primary security point of contact and trusted advisor across the organization.
- Mentor and coach team members and provide leadership with feedback on capabilities and growth areas.
- Support gap assessments, evidence-gathering automation, and collaboration with architects, developers, and GRC teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 8 years of relevant security architecture and application security experience.
- At least 3 years of experience working with stakeholders across multiple functions.
- Strong secure-coding knowledge in Java, .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python.
- Experience with security vulnerabilities, attacker exploit techniques, remediation, and secure-development practices.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud security services and Docker.
- Experience with SAST, SCA, and DAST tools; GitHub Advanced Security is preferred, with Veracode, Checkmarx, Snyk, and open-source tools also welcomed.
- Experience with secret management and authentication or authorization protocols including SAML, OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, REST API, GraphQL, WebSocket, and Message Queue.
- Familiarity with SOC2, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP compliance frameworks.
- Understanding of security engineering areas including DevOps, cryptography, network security, security operations, cloud or systems security, policy, and incident response.
- Understanding of LLM/Agentic AI threats and risks.
- CISSP or CSSLP certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong leadership, judgment, business acumen, communication, collaboration, coaching, and mentoring skills.
