Base Salary

$150k - $215k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end systems design for key scanning-engine components from design through implementation, deployment, and iteration.
  • Design and implement maintainable, well-tested, and observable scanning services in Python and Go.
  • Improve the performance, scalability, reliability, and SLA adherence of large-scale distributed scanning workloads.
  • Partner with security, product, and data teams to translate detection and scanning requirements into production-ready systems and APIs.
  • Drive code quality, secure-coding practices, design documentation, code reviews, and technical standards.
  • Contribute to scanning-platform architecture and roadmap decisions by evaluating tradeoffs and proposing solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues involving scanning performance, accuracy, and stability in collaboration with SRE and infrastructure teams.
  • Mentor engineers through design feedback, pairing, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Strong experience as a Senior Software Engineer or equivalent working on backend or systems-level services.
  • Proficiency in Python or Go, with willingness to work in both languages over time.
  • Experience designing distributed or highly available services with attention to scalability, reliability, and observability.
  • Hands-on experience with scanning, detection, data-processing pipelines, or similar high-throughput engine-like systems.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and performance optimization.
  • Experience working in cloud-native environments with services, containers, monitoring, and logging.
  • Ability to collaborate across product, security, and platform or infrastructure teams and communicate technical tradeoffs clearly.
  • Track record of owning projects from problem definition and design through implementation, rollout, and iteration.
  • Ability to make pragmatic technical decisions while maintaining quality and security in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with testing, static analysis, code reviews, and maintainable-system practices.
  • Cybersecurity domain knowledge, particularly scanning endpoints, is a bonus.
