Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web applications using JavaScript, React, and Next.js.
- Build responsive and accessible interfaces with HTML and CSS.
- Contribute to a global consumer weather website serving millions of users.
- Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs and backend services.
- Investigate and resolve defects, performance issues, and production problems.
- Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-tested code.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with QA on testing, releases, and production deployments.
- Improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Work with engineering and product teams across multiple locations and time zones.
Requirements
- Strong experience with JavaScript and modern frontend development.
- Good working knowledge of React and familiarity with Next.js, including client-side and server-side rendering concepts.
- Strong understanding of CSS, responsive design, and modern web layouts.
- Experience integrating REST APIs or similar backend services.
- Experience with Git-based development workflows and pull requests.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of browser behavior, web performance, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Ability to independently deliver moderately complex features in a collaborative engineering team.
- Experience with TypeScript, CI/CD pipelines, AWS or other cloud platforms, high-traffic consumer applications, web monitoring, analytics, performance optimization, accessibility, and SEO are desirable.
