Responsibilities
- Build and optimize tooling for monitoring, diagnosing, and remediating production incidents.
- Troubleshoot high-impact production issues with engineering teams.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to handle incidents and maintain service continuity.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure and application observability solutions.
- Contribute to infrastructure lifecycle management across environments.
- Apply best practices for stability, resiliency, scalability, and security.
- Maintain technical documentation for tools and procedures.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure infrastructure readiness and share production feedback.
Requirements
- Experience with Go, Python, or Rust and strong scripting skills with Bash and Python.
- Hands-on experience with Linux systems, including Ubuntu and Debian.
- Knowledge of networking concepts and technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, load balancing, and IPv6.
- Experience with cloud environments and infrastructure including bare metal, virtual machines, containers, and orchestrators.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Elastic.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible, Salt, and AWX.
- Experience managing PostgreSQL relational databases.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
- Strong collaboration, communication, independent problem-solving, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing skills.
- Comfortable communicating in written and spoken English.
