$171k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build the next generation of fulfillment product discovery, planning, and order checkout platforms.
- Design, develop, and deliver high-quality, scalable backend features with accountability.
- Address organizational-level challenges affecting Uber’s fulfillment operations and product lines.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, operations, and management stakeholders to define requirements and execution plans.
- Design resilient APIs, architectures, and dependencies that minimize support costs and improve partner experience.
- Work with distributed systems and production systems requiring strong availability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 4+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Golang, Java, C#, or C++.
- Experience working with distributed systems.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with engineers, technical teams, and senior management.
- Preferred: MS or PhD in computer science or a related field.
- Preferred: experience managing production systems with a strong availability SLA.
- Preferred: knowledge of software engineering practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: experience with large-scale distributed systems.
Benefits
- Base salary range is USD $171,000-$190,000 per year for New York City-based roles.
- Eligible to participate in Uber’s bonus program and may be offered equity and other compensation.
