Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain core billing and invoicing systems using C# and PHP.
- Use Claude and Cursor throughout design, implementation, testing, refactoring, and code comprehension while rigorously reviewing generated code.
- Own architectural and design decisions for billing system components and lead technical discussions and code reviews.
- Mentor junior team members, including coaching on effective and safe use of AI development tools.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, development processes, monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- Optimize database queries and system architecture for growing merchant and transaction volumes.
- Implement security controls and support PCI DSS compliance for sensitive payment and merchant data.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and QA teams on releases and resolve escalated support issues.
- Communicate project status, risks, and technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Research and evaluate technologies and methodologies that improve system performance and developer productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience developing complex software applications in a collaborative environment.
- Advanced proficiency in C# and/or PHP and strong knowledge of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
- Advanced experience with database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of security and compliance best practices, including OWASP and PCI.
- Experience designing and architecting scalable distributed systems with attention to performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Experience with code reviews, code quality standards, debugging complex existing systems, and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Production experience using Claude and Cursor, with sound judgment about appropriate AI-tool usage and limitations.
- Preferred experience with logging systems such as Logz.io, containerization with Kubernetes or Docker, monitoring and alerting systems such as DataDog or NewRelic, and CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment processes.
