Responsibilities
- Develop mission autonomy software and infrastructure in C++ for unmanned autonomous aircraft platforms and their support systems.
- Integrate external partners’ autonomy code into company systems.
- Deploy software using containerization and associated technologies.
- Collaborate with Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Cloud & Application, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment.
- Support the full software, hardware, and network development lifecycle, including coding, reviews, source control, builds, and testing.
Requirements
- Engineer Software level: bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of engineering-related experience, or a STEM master's degree with 0 years of related engineering experience.
- Principal Engineer level: bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of engineering-related experience, or a STEM master's degree with 3 years of related engineering experience.
- Experience with Python, C++, and Linux-based development environments.
- Experience with object-oriented programming concepts, test-driven development, Agile practices, and full lifecycle software engineering practices.
- Experience implementing containerized software using open standards such as OCI.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government clearance and Special Access Program access within a reasonable time.
- Preferred: onboard mission system software, mission autonomy for tasking or routing, OMS/UCI or A-GRA, Kubernetes/K3s, Podman/Docker, Helm, and operating-system fundamentals.
