Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead multi-team engineering initiatives, major re-architectures, platform capabilities, migrations, and cross-product integrations.
- Design and implement large-scale platform components, shared libraries, architectures, and infrastructure.
- Drive cross-team improvements in testing strategy, observability, CI/CD pipelines, coding standards, security posture, and developer experience.
- Identify and reduce technical fragmentation, systemic risks, performance gaps, and test fragility across multiple codebases and teams.
- Own technical outcomes across organizational boundaries with minimal direction and anticipate long-term risks.
- Coach Staff and Senior engineers and help develop broader technical leaders.
- Represent engineering in roadmap, architecture, and organizational investment discussions.
Requirements
- Exceptional proficiency across multiple software engineering domains, including distributed systems, API design, data architecture, frontend or backend development, and platform engineering.
- Demonstrated success leading multi-team technical initiatives through production at organizational scale with measurable impact.
- Deep expertise in large-scale system design, platform architecture, and cross-cutting technical strategy across multiple stacks and deployment environments.
- Experience driving improvements in testing, observability, CI/CD, security, or shared infrastructure.
- Proven ability to resolve systemic technical risks and fragmentation across teams and codebases.
- Strong technical communication, cross-team influence, and organizational leadership skills.
- Experience coaching or developing Staff-level engineers into broader technical leaders.
- PhD plus 6 or more years, Master's degree plus 8 or more years, Bachelor's degree plus 10 or more years, Associate degree plus 12 or more years, or high school diploma/GED plus 14 or more years of relevant experience.
- Preferred experience includes shared platforms, internal developer tooling, large-scale migrations, performance engineering, reliability initiatives, technical debt reduction, federal software standards, engineering strategy, hiring, publications, conference presentations, open-source ownership, or standards contributions.
