Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment.
- Manage Docker containerized workloads with Kubernetes, including EKS, GKE, or AKS.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, reliability, availability, performance, incident response, and post-mortem processes.
- Optimize cloud costs and enforce infrastructure best practices.
- Implement infrastructure security controls including IAM, secrets management, and network security.
- Improve developer experience, tooling, deployment workflows, environment configuration, and environment parity.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation and runbooks.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or CircleCI pipelines.
- Proficiency in at least one of Bash, Python, or Go.
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture principles.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Reliable internet, a quiet professional environment for team calls, and availability to work US time zones.
- Comfort working as an independent contractor.
- Preferred qualifications include AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud certifications; Istio or Linkerd; ArgoCD or Flux; cloud database management and scaling; SOC 2 or ISO 27001 familiarity; and high-availability, high-traffic production experience.
