Responsibilities
- Design and implement physics-informed machine learning models for sensor simulation.
- Develop and optimize physics-based and data-driven simulation workflows for ToF, RGB-D, LiDAR, and IMU sensors.
- Collaborate with hardware, AI, and simulation engineers to integrate simulation outputs into real-world robotic systems.
- Apply noise modeling, domain randomization, and physics-based constraints to reduce the simulation-to-reality gap.
- Use NVIDIA Isaac Sim, ROS/ROS2, and Universal Scene Description for simulation development.
- Stay current with PIML, sensor simulation, and robotics advances and contribute to innovative team solutions.
- Develop synthetic data generation and validate simulation models against real-world data.
- Deliver simulation-driven workflows for AI model training, system validation, or perception testing.
Requirements
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Physics, Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in simulation, machine learning, or robotics, including hands-on physics-based or physics-informed modeling.
- Experience developing and deploying physics-informed machine learning models for sensor simulation or related applications.
- Experience with advanced machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow and scientific computing libraries.
- Proficiency in Python and C++ and experience integrating PIML models into simulation platforms and robotic systems.
- Understanding of sensor physics, signal processing, and simulation-to-reality transfer challenges.
- Preferred experience contributing to open-source PIML or simulation projects.
- Preferred familiarity with sensor hardware design and calibration.
- Publications or project experience in physics-informed machine learning or sensor simulation are a bonus.
- Experience with NVIDIA Isaac Sim or other robotic simulation platforms is a bonus.
- Proven track record delivering simulation-driven workflows for AI model training, system validation, or perception testing.
