Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and advance enterprise monitoring, logging, tracing, telemetry, and observability platforms.
  • Define observability standards and reliability practices involving metrics, service health, SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and distributed tracing.
  • Lead cloud service design, technical enhancements, process optimization, automation, and reusable design-for-failure patterns.
  • Serve as an escalation point for engineers and offshore administration teams handling platform troubleshooting, issue resolution, and cloud solution implementation.
  • Monitor system availability and performance, communicate system health, and create incidents for remediation.
  • Collaborate with architecture, security, platform engineering, application teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and procurement.
  • Research and recommend emerging technologies, maintain technical documentation and runbooks, and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, licensing, governance, and contractual requirements.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, lead technical communities of practice, and support on-call escalation as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or direct and applicable work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in system engineering or architecture across multiple platforms.
  • Advanced scripting and coding experience, including use of multiple scripting tools in enterprise environments.
  • Experience designing and operating enterprise-scale observability platforms in complex production environments.
  • Experience with cloud-native and distributed systems in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes, virtualization technologies, networking, containers, microservices, and modern application architectures.
  • Experience with observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, New Relic, AppDynamics, Elastic, or Honeycomb.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, DevOps practices, automation, and observability instrumentation.
  • Experience supporting AI, machine learning, and intelligent agent platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve reliability, availability, scalability, and operational efficiency and to lead technical initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management, consulting, communication, problem-solving, troubleshooting, mentoring, and technical influence skills.
  • Cloud or observability industry certifications are preferred.
