Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, release, and maintain software features for complex hardware/software products.
- Own product features from concept through deployment and ongoing support.
- Participate in architecture, planning, implementation, verification, testing, release, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, manage priorities, and deliver products.
- Develop automated tests, troubleshoot defects, and support software quality assurance.
- Improve software architecture, legacy systems, development processes, maintainability, and quality.
- Participate in code reviews and uphold quality, security, regulatory, and maintainability standards.
- Support CI/CD, build, release, documentation, and software bill of materials activities.
- Research emerging technologies and communicate technical progress, risks, and project status.
- Perform security analysis, threat modeling, and cybersecurity risk assessments.
Requirements
- College degree preferred; advanced degree qualifications include 8+ years with a master's degree or 5+ years with a PhD.
- 10+ years of software development experience for the technical-degree track, with senior-level technical leadership experience.
- Experience developing commercial products across the full product lifecycle.
- Experience in FDA-regulated or ISO/IEC-aligned medical-device environments and preferably other safety-critical industries.
- Proficiency with C++, C#, .NET, and Python, plus knowledge of algorithms, data structures, design principles, and design patterns.
- Experience with QNX, RT Linux, multithreaded applications, Linux development environments, and containerized build systems.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum, Jira, Azure DevOps, Git/GitHub, Bitbucket, Confluence, Jenkins, and SonarQube.
- Strong scripting skills using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or shell scripting.
- Knowledge of software verification, automated testing, debugging, CI/CD, DevOps, and secure software development practices.
- Experience with SBOM generation, release artifact management, AI-assisted development tools, and preferably IEC 62304 or comparable regulated-industry standards.
- Ability to lead technical discussions, solve complex problems, improve large codebases, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
