Responsibilities
- Envision, design, develop, and deliver components of integrated distributed financial systems.
- Design, implement, and support highly scalable systems and services using Java, Kotlin, or other JVM-based languages.
- Write engineering proposals for complex problems, explain them to stakeholders, incorporate feedback, and implement the resulting product features.
- Address reliability, scale, availability, and accuracy concerns important to payments systems.
- Understand how payments and commerce transactions are processed and reflected in accounting and financial systems.
Requirements
- Industry experience and a strong foundation in computer science theory.
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting highly scalable systems and services in Java, Kotlin, or other JVM-based languages.
- Understanding of financial engineering and payment or commerce transaction processing.
- At least 2 years of experience with different SQL and NoSQL data store technologies.
- Understanding of reliability, scale, availability, and accuracy concerns in payments.
- Preferred practical experience with Postgres and DynamoDB.
- Preferred experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.
- Preferred deployment experience using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with data structures, data modeling, and software architecture.
- Strong customer and product focus, thoughtful communication, problem-solving ability, learning mindset, and relationship-building skills.
