Senior Data Product Engineer, Intelligent Platforms (all genders)
HelloFreshResponsibilities
- Design, build, and operate behavioral data and experimentation platform components using Snowplow, Statsig, Databricks, and Unity Catalog.
- Build and maintain high-quality, well-modeled data pipelines for reporting, experimentation analysis, and self-service insights.
- Own platform reliability, scalability, schema governance, event standards, lineage, and data quality checks.
- Extend the semantic layer and partner with domain teams on federated metric definitions.
- Use generative AI to improve data-platform capabilities and support development, experimentation, and documentation.
- Collaborate with product managers, product analysts, and data scientists to create reusable, governed data products.
- Operate production systems by instrumenting, monitoring, and continuously improving them.
- Provide technical guidance and coaching to team members and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer delivering production data.
- At least 2 years of experience with data platform systems such as semantic layers, catalogs, and schema or governance systems.
- Fluency in Python and dbt, with experience building large-scale, high-quality data pipelines on a modern cloud stack.
- Strong SQL skills for retrieving, manipulating, and analyzing large datasets.
- Experience with software development practices and tools including Git, CI/CD, and AWS.
- Hands-on daily experience with AI tooling such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot, including managing context and boundaries for AI-generated work.
- Strong communication skills for working with product managers, product analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Product sense, ownership, bias toward shipping, and the ability to support technical decisions with data and user evidence.
