Base Salary
$200k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain production backend services and APIs for Posh’s platform.
- Own backend systems end to end from design through deployment and on-call support.
- Address performance and reliability issues as usage grows and evolve systems already in production.
- Instrument systems and incorporate security into designs from the beginning.
- Build data models and pipelines that provide actionable insights to organizers and the business.
- Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, and technical decisions affecting other teams.
- Mentor earlier-career engineers through code review, pairing, and direct feedback.
- Participate in technical interviews and calibration.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience shipping production systems in fast-paced environments.
- Deep expertise in APIs, data modeling, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture.
- Proficiency with relevant technologies such as Java, Node.js, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and AWS or similar technologies.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform, and deploying containerized applications.
- Experience scaling and evolving operationally live systems under load.
- Ability to make pragmatic technology choices and clearly defend tradeoffs to technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience at a consumer, social, or marketplace company is preferred.
