Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve the Yocto-based Embedded Linux platform for medical technology products.
  • Integrate and update Linux kernels, bootloaders, device drivers, system libraries, and selected open-source components.
  • Develop reusable middleware and software components in modern C++.
  • Analyze and resolve issues involving performance, startup behavior, network communication, memory management, security, and hardware-software interaction.
  • Improve build automation, continuous integration, test strategies, and release processes.
  • Conduct code reviews and contribute to shared development standards and software quality assurance.
  • Create technical concepts, design documentation, verification documents, and other technical evidence for the software platform.
  • Support product teams with platform introduction, integration, troubleshooting, and long-term maintenance.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of Embedded Linux software development.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Yocto Project; Buildroot experience is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive to extensive knowledge of modern C++, ideally C++23 or newer.
  • Experience with open-source software; personal contributions to open-source projects are advantageous.
  • Professional experience using AI-assisted development tools for software design, implementation, testing, debugging, and code reviews.
  • Strong analytical skills for solving complex technical challenges in a structured manner.
  • High initiative and the ability to independently drive technical topics and take responsibility.
  • Very good German and English language skills.
