
Sr Software Engineer

- Design and develop device drivers for new hardware.
- Design and develop security functions using dedicated hardware, including encryption and secure boot.
- Design, develop, maintain, and manage common Linux software such as the Linux kernel, Trusted Firmware-A, U-Boot, and OP-TEE.
- Introduce and evaluate open-source software for industrial networking functions such as OPC UA.
- Coordinate technical discussions, proposals, and support with internal and external stakeholders and submit patches to open-source communities.
- Build and maintain development environments and recipes using the Yocto Project.
- Develop proprietary library packages for Ubuntu and Debian.
- Manage vulnerability information and CVE response policies and implement remediation measures.
- Plan and manage software maintenance and promote process improvements and automation for quality assurance.
- Research, prototype, and evaluate technologies for next-generation products.
Requirements
- At least approximately five years of embedded software development experience, including independently understanding hardware specifications and developing and debugging software control functions.
- Basic knowledge of open-source licenses such as GPL, MIT, and BSD.
- Communication skills with customers and internal and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to work in English; Japanese at business level and English at conversational level.
- Experience with Linux Kernel, device drivers, graphics, video codecs, security, or industrial networking development is preferred.
- Experience using the Yocto Project is preferred.
- Knowledge of Arm architectures such as Cortex-A, Cortex-M, Cortex-R, and TrustZone, or RISC-V, is preferred.
- Experience programming in Arm or RISC-V assembly language is preferred.
- General embedded-product security knowledge is preferred.
- Experience debugging software on development boards using tools such as ICE is preferred.
- Open-source community contribution experience is preferred.
- Experience developing in CI/CD environments using GitLab or Jenkins is preferred.
- Knowledge of secure boot, cryptography, SELinux, CVE response, and virtualization technologies such as hypervisors is preferred.
