Responsibilities
- Translate system requirements into robust embedded-device software solutions.
- Design, develop, code, test, debug, integrate, and maintain system-level software for real-time multicore platforms.
- Verify and validate software requirements against implementation and performance targets.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and algorithm teams on system integration.
- Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior engineers.
- Produce and maintain block diagrams, interface control documents, traceability matrices, trade studies, and other architectural artifacts.
- Support system architecture and partitioning across hardware, programmable logic, software, and system-level functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a STEM-related discipline with 16 years of experience, or a master's degree with 14 years of experience, or a Ph.D. with 12 years of experience.
- Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
- Proven system architecture experience, including hardware, programmable logic, software, and system-level partitioning.
- Strong digital signal processing background and full-cycle software development experience.
- Expert-level C++ proficiency and fluency in at least one additional language or technology such as Java, Python, or C#.
- Experience with communication protocols including SPI, UART, 1553, ARINC, and UAI.
- Experience developing real-time software on multicore System-on-Chip platforms, including board support packages and device drivers.
- Preferred qualifications include Git experience, embedded systems using pre-emptive multitasking RTOSes, VxWorks, hardware integration and testing, board-level debugging, Atlassian tools, and system-requirements and code-efficiency tradeoff analysis.
