Responsibilities
- Design and develop AI-driven automation solutions for complex government and national security workflows.
- Build systems that combine data, machine learning, LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, agents, tool use, and workflow automation.
- Develop and evaluate models, AI applications, data pipelines, analytical workflows, benchmarks, and automated testing approaches.
- Analyze complex datasets, perform feature engineering and exploratory analysis, and apply NLP, information retrieval, classification, entity resolution, and anomaly detection techniques.
- Move data science prototypes into scalable production AI systems in partnership with software and ML engineers.
- Monitor and improve model, data, automation, and system performance while contributing to AI application architecture and documentation.
- Work directly with government customers and mission users to translate ambiguous requirements into measurable technical outcomes.
- Demonstrate AI capabilities, explain results and limitations, gather feedback, and iterate on solutions.
- Design human-in-the-loop workflows that comply with government legal and regulatory constraints.
Requirements
- Active TS//SCI clearance with a Counterintelligence or Lifestyle Polygraph.
- At least 5 years of experience in data science, machine learning, AI, quantitative analysis, or a related technical field.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Strong experience with C++, Python, Java, SQL, or equivalent programming skills.
- Deep understanding of machine learning, statistics, and data science fundamentals, with hands-on experience building and deploying AI or ML systems.
- Experience applying LLMs or other modern AI techniques to real-world applications and designing automated data or business workflows.
- Strong understanding of model evaluation, experimentation, and performance measurement across the lifecycle from exploration through production.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, ownership, and independent execution skills.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with AI agents, agentic workflows, LLM APIs, open-source language models, embeddings, RAG, vector databases, tool calling, NLP, semantic search, knowledge graphs, production data pipelines, cloud platforms, containers, MLOps, and automated evaluation.
- Preferred experience includes supporting Department of Defense or Intelligence Community missions, working in classified or air-gapped environments, automating analyst workflows, and working with geospatial, graph, or time-series data.
- Ability to obtain and maintain additional SAP or ACCM security-clearance accesses.
