Base Salary
$135k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with forward-deployed and customer engineers to identify product gaps and short- and long-term improvements
- Build and evolve APIs that allow internal and customer developers to interact with Kubernetes runtimes
- Use Kubernetes primitives, its open-source ecosystem, and service lifecycle semantics to solve business-critical problems at scale
- Develop and operate infrastructure supporting hundreds of specialized microservices
- Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to deliver timely, sustainable technical solutions
- Define and champion a long-term technology roadmap that improves scalability, reduces operational burden and risk, and enables significant technical advances
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience
- At least 1 year contributing to the system design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling
- At least 1 year as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader
- Strong coding skills in Go, Java, or an equivalent language
- Experience designing, building, and operating high-scale observability or infrastructure systems
- Experience developing and managing highly available distributed systems
- Deep familiarity with Kubernetes and its broader open-source ecosystem
- Strong troubleshooting skills using observability tools and service logs
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
- Active US security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain one
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
