Responsibilities
- Execute the technical and feature roadmap for the L-Band Table Generator software product.
- Develop, maintain, test, document, and update software according to team standards.
- Evaluate L-Band Space Vehicle Real Time system performance and recommend improvements.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives to improve system performance and reliability.
- Maintain software design documentation and SVRT domain knowledge.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and cross-training on SVRT and on-orbit L-Band operational needs.
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies, including standups, sprint planning, reviews, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
- Complete initiatives with minimal technical oversight and promote technical growth within the engineering team.
- Provide occasional on-call support for satellite and space anomalies, typically one to two times per year.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer system engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of relevant software programming industry experience.
- At least 5 years of experience developing embedded software using C++.
- Experience with Jira, Bitbucket, Fisheye/Crucible, and Confluence.
- Proficiency working primarily in a Linux environment.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, analytical, communication, prioritization, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle process.
- Ability to work independently, lead initiatives, communicate technical information clearly, and support team knowledge sharing.
- U.S. citizenship with no dual citizenships.
- Ability to travel up to approximately 14 days per year.
- Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer system engineering, or a related engineering degree is preferred.
