Base Salary
$118k - $148k/yr
Responsibilities
- Maintain high availability across large-scale bare-metal Linux/BSD fleets, Kubernetes clusters, and custom routing stacks.
- Lead full-cycle incident response and perform cross-stack troubleshooting using OS, network, and application debugging tools.
- Automate infrastructure lifecycle management, service provisioning, configuration workflows, and release deployments using Ansible, Python, and Go.
- Convert recurring manual work into durable, version-controlled, testable automation and track operational toil reduction.
- Own metrics, logs, and traces with Prometheus and OpenTelemetry, and define and enforce SLOs and error budgets.
- Conduct architectural reviews, OS and kernel upgrades, capacity and performance tuning, and CI/CD validation before production rollouts.
- Embed telemetry, rollback safety, and SLO readiness into service design.
Requirements
- US citizenship is required due to the nature of assigned customers.
- At least 3 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering, or Systems Engineering operating high-scale, low-latency production platforms.
- Ability to write and debug executable code in Python, Go, or Bash, including core logic and data structures.
- Hands-on experience writing Ansible playbooks and tasks for infrastructure automation.
- Deep knowledge of Linux operating system internals and kernel troubleshooting.
- Comprehensive understanding of networking protocols, DNS resolution workflows, TLS handshakes, TCP/IP mechanics, and packet captures with tcpdump.
- Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions within a functional domain.
- Preferred: production experience with FreeBSD/BSD systems; Kubernetes operations, scaling, and troubleshooting; Temporal or similar workflow orchestration platforms; Prometheus/OpenTelemetry; or AI/ML frameworks and AIOps tools for automated root-cause analysis.
