
Senior Algorithm Developer –Supply Chain Production Scheduling

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test production-scheduling models, constraints, heuristics, and metaheuristics.
- Translate manufacturing and scheduling constraints into robust computational and mathematical models.
- Apply advanced scheduling techniques and targeted AI/ML approaches where appropriate.
- Develop and evolve core scheduling logic in a commercial enterprise product.
- Define and contribute to unit, integration, regression, and performance testing strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, QA, and support teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and scrum rituals.
- Triage defects, explain product behavior, suggest workarounds, and fix and validate moderate issues.
- Improve development workflows through tooling, automation, and AI-assisted workflows while maintaining secure design and code quality.
- Review AI-generated code for correctness, architectural fit, integration safety, and edge-case coverage.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of production-scheduling algorithms, optimization techniques, and/or heuristics.
- 5+ years of algorithm-development experience in a production environment.
- Strong software engineering experience delivering enterprise-grade commercial software.
- Proficiency in Java, C++, C#, or similar object-oriented languages, including unit testing and design patterns.
- Experience translating planning or scheduling problems into computational or mathematical models.
- Ability to design and contribute to automated testing for functional correctness and performance.
- Comfort working across the full software development lifecycle, from design through delivery and ongoing support.
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex behavior to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Background in supply chain management or manufacturing is a plus.
- Exposure to development, testing, performance-validation, and production-support infrastructure is a plus.
- Familiarity with Gurobi, CPLEX, or Xpress is a plus.
- Exposure to machine learning or AI techniques applied to optimization or planning is a plus.
