Base Salary
$130k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate software supporting the ground network across cloud and edge environments.
- Build backend services and APIs for operating and managing ground-station software and hardware.
- Deploy and operate containerized services using Kubernetes.
- Develop software that analyzes and optimizes spacecraft-to-ground links.
- Handle configuration and data for a variety of ground radios.
- Build and maintain logging, monitoring, and observability infrastructure across the fleet.
- Troubleshoot software, networking, and infrastructure issues across cloud and deployed hardware environments.
- Contribute to system architecture as the ground network expands.
- Collaborate with ground hardware, RF, space software, and other engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong software engineering experience in Python, Go, or a similar programming language.
- Strong experience developing and operating software on Linux.
- Experience building backend services, APIs, or distributed systems.
- Experience developing and operating software in AWS or similar cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols, including TCP/IP.
- Experience troubleshooting network connectivity and distributed software systems.
- Experience with logging, monitoring, observability, production software reliability, automated testing, and software validation.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership in a fast-moving engineering environment.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes, satellite ground systems, satellite communications, telecommunications infrastructure, cloud and edge deployments, scheduling or orchestration systems, physical infrastructure, and electrical, RF, networking, or communications systems.
- Applicants must meet applicable U.S. Government space technology export-control eligibility requirements.
