Senior Software Engineer - Postgres

Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services that orchestrate and manage database clusters in ClickHouse Cloud.
- Extend the Ruby, Go, and TypeScript control plane to support new Postgres capabilities.
- Contribute to PostgreSQL extensions and C, C++, or Rust data-plane agents.
- Build automation and tooling for cluster provisioning, scaling, and lifecycle management.
- Develop APIs and integrations exposing Postgres functionality to customers and internal systems.
- Improve observability, deployment safety, debugging workflows, performance, and reliability for database services.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, SRE, and product teams and participate in design reviews, code reviews, and on-call rotations.
- Identify opportunities, drive execution, and deliver meaningful impact with autonomy.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience, ideally building or operating database or cloud platform systems.
- Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL configuration, extensions, operations, and performance tuning.
- Strong programming experience in one or more of Ruby, Go, Rust, C, or Python, with willingness to work across languages.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, APIs, and automation tools including Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
- Understanding of distributed systems, data replication, and service orchestration patterns.
- Ability to contribute to both greenfield development and operational ownership, including debugging and on-call work.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with a pragmatic, detail-oriented, and highly autonomous working style.
