Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain database architectures for OLTP and analytics workloads across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Develop data models, database designs, data flow diagrams, and database design standards.
- Collaborate with application, operations, data science, and IT teams to align database solutions with business requirements.
- Analyze and optimize database performance through query optimization, indexing, parameter configuration, and bottleneck remediation.
- Develop coding standards for T-SQL, PL/SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases.
- Implement performance monitoring and alerting solutions.
- Design and maintain data warehouses, data lakes, and big data integrations.
- Architect scalable NoSQL solutions, including partitioning strategies, and evaluate emerging graph and time-series database technologies.
- Design cloud-native and hybrid database solutions using services such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL, AWS DMS, and Azure Data Factory.
- Communicate technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders and participate in industry events and conferences.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in database architecture and design.
- Strong performance tuning and optimization skills.
- Proficiency with multiple relational, NoSQL, and cloud-based database platforms.
- Experience with data warehousing, big data, and emerging technologies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator or Oracle Certified Professional are applicable.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
