Responsibilities
- Customize and enhance the Moodle LMS according to client requirements and organizational goals.
- Develop and maintain Moodle plugins that extend platform functionality.
- Collaborate with instructional designers, UI/UX experts, project managers, clients, and team members on integrations and project delivery.
- Conduct code reviews for quality, performance, and adherence to best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving Moodle customizations, plugins, and integrations.
- Monitor Moodle and e-learning technology developments and recommend improvements.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers.
- Define project scope, timelines, and deliverables with project managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience as a Moodle Developer focused on customization and plugin development.
- Expertise in PHP and strong knowledge of Moodle architecture and APIs.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Extensive experience with MySQL or other relational databases and database query optimization.
- Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, collaboration, independent work, and time-management skills.
- Preferred: experience integrating Moodle with external systems through web services or APIs.
- Preferred: knowledge of SCORM and xAPI (Tin Can API).
- Preferred: familiarity with mobile app development and responsive design principles.
