Responsibilities
- Architect and implement backend services and integrations with data stores, APIs, and third-party APIs.
- Support reliable databases and APIs used for real-time automated decision-making.
- Deploy software using Kubernetes clusters, Lambda functions, Docker, and related container technologies.
- Investigate and resolve production issues by analyzing code, data, and system behavior.
- Implement robust automated unit, integration, and end-to-end test suites.
- Apply secure development and DevOps practices, including Defense in Depth for containerized systems.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Senior Engineers, and Architects to translate business requirements into production code.
- Own delivered work and contribute to software design, architecture, code reviews, and performance improvements.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Practical knowledge of at least one relational database system such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
- Experience with microservices, system design patterns, software architecture discussions, and automated testing.
- Experience implementing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using the test pyramid.
- Effective security practices and the ability to solve problems independently.
- Clear communication across technical and non-technical teams, with strong ownership and accountability.
- Comfort using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or similar.
- Good written and spoken English and availability for occasional evening meetings across time zones.
- Preferred: familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS deployment processes; performance profiling and optimization; and high-quality code review feedback.
