Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable microservices and tools for Okta’s Continuous Delivery platform, including Spinnaker, Terraform, and custom tooling.
- Build APIs and automation for infrastructure provisioning, production changes, application deployments, vulnerability management, and self-service operations.
- Architect and implement reliable, secure, and scalable continuous delivery pipelines and Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code workflows.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-tested Java, Python, or Go software for automation and operational tooling.
- Partner with DevOps, SRE, and Product teams to identify bottlenecks and replace manual processes with scalable automation.
- Apply software engineering, testing, deployment, and security best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance while influencing the team’s technical roadmap.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience focused on backend systems and distributed applications.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Java, Go, Python, or similar backend languages.
- Experience building automation tools, platforms, or microservices for cloud environments such as AWS or GCP.
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles and practical Terraform experience.
- Experience developing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery platforms, including familiarity with Spinnaker or similar tools.
- Understanding of Kubernetes and ECS from a software development perspective.
- Proficiency with Docker and experience working with Linux and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with database technologies such as MySQL and MongoDB in application development and operational management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Preferred: experience building AI-powered assistants or copilots for Terraform or Pulumi templates.
- Preferred: familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures for intelligent platform documentation bots and deployment diagnostics.
