Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable microservices and tools for the Continuous Delivery platform, including Spinnaker, Terraform, and custom tooling.
- Build APIs and automation for infrastructure provisioning, production changes, application deployments, and self-service operational workflows.
- Architect and implement reliable, scalable, and secure Continuous Delivery pipelines and Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code workflows.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-tested automation software primarily in Java, Python, or Go.
- Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and Product teams to identify operational bottlenecks and deliver scalable automation solutions.
- Apply software engineering, testing, deployment, security, and operational excellence best practices.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve developer velocity and onboarding through self-service automation.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and influence on the team’s technical roadmap.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software development experience focused on backend systems and distributed applications.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Go, Python, or similar backend languages.
- Experience developing and maintaining automation tools, platforms, or microservices for cloud environments such as AWS or GCP.
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles and practical experience with Terraform.
- Experience developing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery platforms, including Spinnaker or similar tools.
- Experience with Kubernetes and ECS from a software development perspective.
- Proficiency with Docker and experience building applications that interact with Linux and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with database technologies such as MySQL and MongoDB in application development and operational management.
- Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving skills in a software development context.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Preferred: experience building AI-powered assistants or copilots for Terraform or Pulumi templates.
- Preferred: familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures for platform documentation bots and deployment diagnostics.
