Base Salary
$405k - $485k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own high-traffic authentication, authorization, and identity systems from design through rollout, operations, and iteration.
- Design credentialing and identity systems for agents, service accounts, and long-running autonomous workloads.
- Build unified authorization, policy, tenant, organization, and resource-access systems with strong security, low latency, and multi-region resilience.
- Develop enterprise identity integrations including SSO, SCIM, login policies, recovery methods, and allowlisting.
- Lead migrations of live high-traffic systems using shadow modes, incremental rollouts, and legacy-path retirement.
- Set technical direction and collaborate with product, security, infrastructure, and consuming product teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building and operating backend or platform systems at scale, ideally including identity, authentication, authorization, or security infrastructure.
- Experience with technologies and concepts including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, JWTs, token exchange, workload identity federation, Cedar, OPA, RBAC, or resource-level access control.
- Experience designing for reliability, security, on-call operations, failure modes, revocation, and high availability.
- Experience owning large migrations in live, high-traffic systems and making independent technical decisions in ambiguous environments.
- A product-focused approach to platform engineering, including documentation and self-service for adopting teams.
- Experience with globally distributed databases and multi-region service architecture is valued.
- Experience with Go, Python, Rust, or TypeScript is valued.
- Experience with enterprise identity providers and cloud IAM systems is valued.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
