Base Salary
$110k - $152k/yr
Responsibilities
- Translate product requirements into software and hardware requirements.
- Design and develop device drivers for System-on-Chip solutions in collaboration with software architects.
- Develop embedded software, microcode, bootloaders, and bare-metal drivers for SoC products.
- Develop software for performance analysis and profiling.
- Perform software development, testing, debugging, integration, and documentation on emulation platforms and evaluation boards.
- Debug silicon, hardware, and software during silicon and board bring-up.
- Work independently within a global software development community and collaborate with internal and external business associates.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of industry experience.
- Experience developing firmware and bare-metal drivers for MCUs, DSPs, or heterogeneous SoC architectures.
- Experience developing bootloaders and device drivers.
- Experience with silicon and board bring-up and debugging with IDE and JTAG/SWD debuggers.
- Understanding of real-time operating system concepts and experience with FreeRTOS, Zephyr, and/or Linux as an embedded operating system.
- Proficiency in C and/or C++.
- Understanding of ARM cores and bus architecture.
- Experience with communication interfaces and protocols such as UART, SPI, and I2C.
- Hands-on experience with debugging tools such as GDB, JLink, and OpenOCD.
- Familiarity with Git, Jenkins/GitHub Actions, Jira, and Confluence.
- Preferred experience with silicon design and development cycles, hardware/software co-design, CMSIS Packs, IAR, KEIL, Visual Studio, VS Code, board schematics, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work proactively and independently.
