Base Salary

$144k - $194k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement distributed index replication infrastructure for Global Secondary Indexes.
  • Build and optimize the Log Propagator pipeline, including streaming, checkpointing, session management, admission control, and failure recovery.
  • Develop index lifecycle mechanisms for creation, backfill, incremental updates, compaction, partition changes, rebalancing, and deletion.
  • Maintain index consistency during concurrent writes, partition movement, leader elections, and failures.
  • Integrate indexing infrastructure with DynamoDB storage, partitioning, replication, query-processing, and control-plane systems.
  • Build availability, recovery, observability, alarming, and operational tooling for the indexing pipeline.
  • Optimize replication latency, write amplification, storage efficiency, throughput, memory usage, and operating cost.
  • Drive patching, deployment safety, capacity planning, and on-call operations for a Tier-1 service.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems for reliability and scaling.
  • At least 1 year of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
  • At least 1 year designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
  • At least 1 year of object-oriented design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • Preferred: at least 3 years covering the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
