Responsibilities
- Work on a project critical to HPE in an Agile environment.
- Build software using AI coding agents such as OpenCode and Copilot to plan, write, test, and refactor code.
- Write clear prompts and specifications that enable coding agents to produce production-ready results.
- Review, verify, and test agent-generated code while maintaining accountability for correctness, security, and quality.
- Automate repetitive engineering tasks and build agentic workflows that run tools, tests, and iterations autonomously.
- Collaborate with and receive technical guidance from senior Engineering team members.
- Apply emerging AI-assisted development trends, software development methodologies, and techniques.
Requirements
- Be enrolled at a university during the internship and be eligible to work full-time in Ireland during the internship.
- Be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Have exposure to the Linux operating system and scripting languages such as Python.
- Have solid fundamentals in reading and reasoning about code.
- Demonstrate curiosity about large language models and hands-on interest in coding agents.
- Have excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Experience with AI coding assistants or LLM-based tools in personal or academic projects is preferred.
- Good time management, project management, self-motivation, adaptability, and willingness to learn are preferred.
