Responsibilities
- Own the design, architecture, and delivery of tailored, production-grade solutions for complex customer needs.
- Identify potential blockers and determine what engineering work should be built to address them.
- Build internal tools and systems for the wider engineering and deployment teams.
- Evaluate engineering effort against business outcomes and make prioritization tradeoffs.
- Turn one-off fixes into reusable infrastructure and repeatable deployment patterns.
- Make architectural decisions involving reliability, scalability, security, and production operations.
- Create playbooks and documentation to help the team scale deployments efficiently.
- Mentor and uplevel engineers through code reviews, architectural guidance, and best practices.
- Lead technical projects end-to-end in ambiguous environments with shifting requirements.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency with ReactJS and TypeScript, including code quality, usability, and accessibility.
- Deep understanding of relational databases, including PostgreSQL, data modeling, and system design.
- Experience with AWS or GCP cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and production operations at scale.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects end-to-end in ambiguous environments.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and improving team engineering practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience using AI critically as an engineering tool while maintaining independent technical understanding.
- Preferred experience architecting and delivering production systems for LLMs or other AI-powered products in customer-facing environments.
- Preferred experience with component libraries, design systems, or reusable deployment frameworks.
- Preferred experience optimizing and scaling full-stack applications under real-world constraints and high traffic.
