Responsibilities

  • Own architecture and technical strategy for major frontend manufacturing platforms and AI-assisted engineering practices.
  • Design, develop, and deliver manufacturing application features across fabrication and assembly operations.
  • Lead architecture and design reviews, modernization planning, technical standards, and cross-system problem resolution.
  • Contribute production-quality code using .NET, C++, Angular, Perl, and Python.
  • Participate in on-call support and serve as an escalation point for high-priority manufacturing production incidents.
  • Evaluate, pilot, operationalize, and govern AI development tooling, coding assistants, agentic workflows, and supporting integrations.
  • Apply AI-assisted techniques to legacy code comprehension, documentation, test generation, and modernization.
  • Define quality controls, productivity metrics, training, documentation, office hours, and coaching for AI-assisted engineering.
  • Influence technical direction across multiple teams, mentor senior and staff engineers, and represent the organization in technical forums.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 10–12 years of professional software engineering experience designing, delivering, and maintaining production applications.
  • Expertise in modern frontend development, including Angular or a comparable component-based framework, TypeScript, and web application architecture.
  • Strong server-side engineering experience with .NET/C# and working proficiency in at least one of C++, Python, or Perl.
  • Hands-on experience applying AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding workflows to production codebases.
  • Experience leading architecture and design for complex systems spanning multiple teams, services, or applications.
  • Ability to influence technical direction and raise engineering standards without formal reporting authority.
  • Experience mentoring senior engineers and leading technical design reviews.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work on-site in Boise, Idaho, five days per week.
  • Preferred qualifications include AI tooling rollout and governance, custom AI engineering assets such as agent configurations or MCP servers, legacy Perl or C++ modernization, semiconductor or industrial automation experience, high-volume data visualization, DevOps and automated testing strategy, engineering metrics, and a master’s degree.
