Responsibilities
- Build high-quality large-scale and targeted image or video datasets for foundation model training.
- Design data annotation, enrichment, curation, and synthetic data generation pipelines.
- Improve diffusion and autoregressive foundation models through data ablation experiments and training-data improvements.
- Apply current AI research and develop proprietary or experimental methods to improve model quality for Apple product experiences.
- Work in an applied research environment and contribute to complex shipped projects or research output.
Requirements
- M.S. or PhD in Computer Science or a related field such as Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience improving modern image generation or image understanding models through data ablation experiments.
- Knowledge of machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX.
- Experience with large-scale data frameworks such as Hadoop or Ray.
- Experience working in an academic or industrial research environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to drive clarity in ambiguous circumstances.
- Preferred: hands-on experience improving diffusion image generation models through training data improvements.
- Preferred: strong industrial research output, shipped complex projects, or publications at top-tier venues.
