Responsibilities
- Gather, document, and contribute to feature and component requirements.
- Design new software subsystems or enhance existing subsystems to meet requirements.
- Plan implementation timelines and resources while balancing requirements, speed, cost, and reliability.
- Implement and document software code that meets design requirements.
- Develop unit test plans, test suites, test cases, and automated tests for functional coverage.
- Investigate and resolve software anomalies and determine their root causes.
- Lead integration of components and solve subsystem problems to produce final products.
- Participate in document, design, code, test case, and user documentation reviews.
- Maintain the integrity of one or more software subsystems.
- Collaborate with peers, global teams, customers, and partners while communicating updates and resolutions.
- Research new technologies and standards and pursue relevant professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Experience with data structures and algorithms, object-oriented design, and design patterns.
- Direct experience with C++, C#, or other relevant programming languages.
- Experience architecting modular software and testing integrated software products.
- Experience with Jenkins, Artifactory, GitLab, Make, and build systems.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, PowerShell, and JavaScript.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
- Industrial automation industry experience is preferred.
- Experience with AI-enabled software development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Cursor is preferred.
