Responsibilities
- Lead the technical vision and development of realistic, expressive synthetic speech and visual representations for conversational agents.
- Lead complex generative ML projects from research through production while making tradeoffs among quality, latency, and compute.
- Build and ship scalable machine learning systems and pipelines for generative modeling.
- Evaluate generative model outputs using objective metrics and perceptual or subjective quality assessment.
- Develop multimodal generation capabilities spanning audio, video, speech, animation, and visual representations.
- Mentor senior and junior engineers and provide technical direction for the team.
- Collaborate across research, engineering, and product teams to shape the roadmap for multimodal generative experiences.
- Deploy real-time or low-latency generative models at scale.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Deep hands-on experience with generative audio and/or video architectures, including diffusion models, autoregressive models, GANs, VAEs, or end-to-end neural synthesis.
- Experience building and shipping machine learning systems in production with significant focus on generative modeling.
- Strong software engineering skills and experience designing scalable ML systems and pipelines, including Python and PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience evaluating generative model outputs with objective and perceptual or subjective quality measures.
- Experience with speech synthesis, voice conversion, audio acoustics or background modeling, or conversational AI systems.
- Experience with generative video or animation techniques such as facial animation, lip-sync, avatar rendering, or video diffusion.
- Experience deploying real-time or low-latency generative models at scale.
- Familiarity with multimodal modeling, including joint audio-visual generation and cross-modal conditioning.
- Publications in generative modeling, speech, audio, or computer vision at top-tier venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICASSP, CVPR, or Interspeech.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills across research, engineering, and product teams.
- Prior experience mentoring engineers or leading technical direction for a team.
