Base Salary
$208k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and scale tooling for creating, managing, prioritizing, and auditing annotation projects.
- Design workflows and quality-control systems that improve task accuracy, throughput, and customer outcomes.
- Develop performant full-stack features using Python, Node.js/TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, and backend APIs.
- Establish technical direction and make architectural tradeoffs for complex projects.
- Partner with product, design, operations, and data teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
- Lead projects from concept through production delivery, rollout, monitoring, and iteration.
- Mentor engineers and improve code reviews, architecture discussions, testing practices, observability, and operational health.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Node.js, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, and backend APIs.
- Experience designing scalable, reliable software and making sound architectural tradeoffs.
- Demonstrated ownership of complex projects from ambiguity through delivery.
- Strong product judgment and ability to connect technical decisions to customer and business outcomes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical partners.
- Ability to write maintainable code, test thoughtfully, debug deeply, and address root causes.
- Experience mentoring engineers and elevating team practices in a collaborative leadership environment.
- Comfort working in a high-velocity environment with evolving priorities and requirements.
- Preferred experience includes workflow, marketplace, operations, or internal-platform software; AI/ML data pipelines, annotation systems, evaluation workflows, or human-in-the-loop products; distributed teams, expert networks, or high-volume operational processes; and open-source or self-directed technical projects.
