Responsibilities
- Lead a feature team in understanding requirements, refining stories, designing solutions, implementing features, testing them, and supporting them in production.
- Design, implement, and maintain solution components that are fit for purpose, reusable, integrated, reliable, and maintainable.
- Develop rapid prototypes and write clean, well-tested, refactored code.
- Work across user interfaces, services, databases, and legacy PHP components as a generalizing specialist.
- Define and evolve component architecture and contribute to department-wide and bank-wide architectural decisions.
- Provide production reliability and participate in 3rd-line on-call support.
- Help the team build, test, and release software through highly automated continuous delivery pipelines.
- Promote learning and continuous improvement within the team and wider organization.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Java or Kotlin with understanding of object-oriented and functional programming concepts.
- Practical experience building data engineering solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Maven, PHP, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
- Experience with GitHub Actions, continuous delivery pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Experience setting up keystores, generating SSL certificates, and working with gateways and Apigee.
- Experience working in Agile teams using Scrum, Kanban, or XP.
- Automated testing experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, Event Sourcing, microservices, and rapid iterative delivery approaches.
- Strong API design skills using GraphQL and REST, including synchronous and asynchronous inter-service communication.
- Experience with high-performance SQL data access and SQL scripting.
- Experience with Oracle 10G or higher, Liquibase database automation, and PostgreSQL schema modeling, performance, and low- or zero-downtime schema changes.
- Ability to read and safely evolve an unfamiliar legacy PHP codebase.
- Ability to use AI tools to improve productivity and workflows while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
