Responsibilities
- Engage government customers and mission stakeholders to understand operational needs, requirements, constraints, and desired outcomes.
- Translate mission requirements into secure cloud and hybrid-cloud solution architectures spanning infrastructure, applications, data, networking, security, and operations.
- Develop architecture diagrams, bills of materials, migration plans, implementation roadmaps, technical approaches, and operational documentation.
- Provision, configure, test, troubleshoot, and optimize Azure, AWS, on-premises, and hybrid-cloud infrastructure and platform services.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, CloudFormation, or comparable tools.
- Configure cloud networking, IAM, security controls, private connectivity, firewalls, DNS, load balancing, and hybrid connectivity.
- Build and support CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment workflows, containerized workloads, Kubernetes platforms, monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions.
- Perform technical assessments, migrations, environment validation, root-cause analysis, remediation, prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and technical demonstrations.
- Coordinate technical reviews with cybersecurity, infrastructure, data, software, and mission stakeholders.
- Support capture, modernization, proposal, estimation, and transition activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 12+ years of progressively responsible infrastructure and cloud engineering, solutions engineering, systems engineering, or technical architecture experience.
- Hands-on experience deploying and administering Azure, AWS, or both, including hybrid-cloud architectures.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration-management tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Experience with cloud networking, IAM, role-based access control, secrets management, least-privilege security, Zero Trust, CI/CD, containers, monitoring, logging, and observability.
- Working knowledge of Linux or Windows administration and scripting with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience with container orchestration platforms and troubleshooting infrastructure or application issues.
- Ability to design across infrastructure, networking, security, applications, data, and operations and produce architecture documentation, implementation plans, and runbooks.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and requirements-analysis skills.
- Must reside within 75 miles of Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, or be willing to relocate before starting.
- Must have or obtain before starting CompTIA Security+ CE or another approved 8570 IAT Level II certification, plus a qualifying cloud certification.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance; an active clearance is required to start.
- Preferred qualifications include Department of War mission systems, federal acquisition, IL4/5/6, Azure Government, AWS GovCloud, cloud migration, enterprise identity, managed databases, API gateways, message queues, event-driven integrations, SPECTRO Cloud, and relevant cloud, architecture, Kubernetes, Terraform, security, or DevSecOps certifications.
