Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services, API integrations, orchestration components, gateway components, and workflow steps.
- Build partner API clients, internal APIs, and services connecting activation systems.
- Improve integrations through authentication, retries, idempotency, rate limiting, and error handling.
- Write unit, integration, and contract tests and contribute to CI/CD and safe releases.
- Improve structured logging, metrics, tracing, observability, and auditability.
- Investigate incidents, fix bugs, update runbooks, address technical debt, and share knowledge.
Requirements
- At least three years of professional software engineering experience in backend, platform, or API-focused roles, or equivalent practical experience.
- Production experience building and operating backend services and APIs, including REST/HTTP services or webhooks.
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend language such as Python, Go, Java, or Kotlin; Python is preferred.
- Experience integrating APIs, including authentication, pagination, request and response handling, error models, and operational debugging.
- Experience with Git, unit and integration testing, contract testing or equivalent quality practices, and CI/CD.
- Experience with a cloud platform such as GCP, AWS, or Azure and containerized deployment.
- Familiarity with asynchronous or event-driven systems, queues, background jobs, or workflow steps.
- Preferred experience includes Docker, Kubernetes, workflow or orchestration systems, Terraform, observability practices, internal tools or user interfaces, AdTech or MarTech data, privacy-conscious distributed systems, and AI-assisted development.
