Base Salary
$130k - $166k/yr
Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate platform software requirements and collaborate with colleagues and customers to define product requirements.
- Assist with product design and architecture development.
- Design, develop, maintain, enhance, and customize platform software solutions, including printer drivers and developer SDKs.
- Estimate tasks, investigate and resolve reported defects, and troubleshoot development issues consistently and logically.
- Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and cross-functional collaboration with firmware, electrical, mechanical, quality, product, and customer support teams.
- Provide project status, raise issues, and communicate relevant information to stakeholders.
- Improve development processes, standards, tools, product quality, workflow, and customer experience.
- Consult with engineers on interfaces between platform software, embedded solutions, hardware, and overall system requirements.
- Develop and document secure implementations involving security protocols and cryptographic techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- At least four years of related software engineering experience; Senior-level candidates generally have four to seven years, while Staff-level candidates generally have seven or more years with technical ownership, architecture influence, and/or mentoring experience.
- Experience developing platform software with object-oriented languages such as C, C++, or C#.
- Experience across the software development lifecycle, including design, architecture, and implementation.
- Strong understanding of software development processes, principles, and objectives.
- Experience implementing security protocols and securely implementing cryptographic techniques is highly desired.
- Working knowledge of Git and familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Linux, Windows API, DevExpress, XML, USB or Ethernet devices, Jenkins, and JIRA experience are beneficial or preferred.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework are preferred.
- Strong analytical, planning, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, learn new technologies quickly, and handle multiple tasks.
