
Forward Deployed Engineer - Healthcare Transformation

Responsibilities
- Partner with healthcare customers and internal teams to understand workflows, constraints, decision points, adoption barriers, and desired outcomes.
- Translate ambiguous customer needs into hypotheses, use cases, success metrics, acceptance criteria, prototypes, and implementation options.
- Design, code, integrate, test, and deploy prototypes and product extensions using healthcare assets, APIs, data, AI capabilities, and platform services.
- Apply healthcare integration patterns including HL7 FHIR, SMART on FHIR, CDS Hooks, secure APIs, and cloud-native approaches.
- Use automated testing, observability, secure software delivery, and AI-assisted or agentic development practices.
- Convert field-built solutions into reusable APIs, connectors, reference architectures, templates, evaluation harnesses, playbooks, and product backlog input.
- Build AI-enabled workflows with trusted content, human oversight, auditability, clear user intent, and post-deployment monitoring.
- Coordinate with clinical, editorial, security, privacy, legal, compliance, product, engineering, and customer teams.
- Lead cross-functional virtual squads or technical workstreams and communicate technical tradeoffs while protecting safety, quality, security, and maintainability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, biomedical informatics, data science, health informatics, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in software engineering, customer-facing engineering, solution architecture, technical product management, or related product technology roles.
- Production-quality software experience in enterprise or regulated environments.
- Healthcare technology experience involving clinical workflows, EHR, payer, pharmacy, healthcare data platforms, or digital health.
- Experience with AI or GenAI, LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows, AI evaluation, prompt or retrieval testing, or responsible AI governance.
- Ability to turn customer or stakeholder problems into requirements, prototypes, working software, and measurable outcomes.
- Strong programming ability in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, C#, Go, or comparable languages.
- Ability to collaborate across product, technology, commercial, clinical, security, and customer teams.
- Mobile development experience is a plus.
- An advanced degree is preferred but not required.

- Bonus eligibility is provided, with the stated base salary range of $215,100.00–$384,400.00 depending on location and qualifications.
