Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain firmware for embedded Linux systems using C/C++.
- Ensure firmware quality, performance, and compliance with real-time system constraints.
- Integrate kernel modules and configure hardware interfaces for product requirements.
- Manage build systems using Buildroot, Yocto, or similar tools.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or other automation tools.
- Debug firmware at low level using GDB, JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
- Analyze logs and system traces across bootloader, kernel, and user-space layers to resolve issues.
- Profile and optimize memory usage, boot time, and CPU performance.
- Resolve system bottlenecks and ensure stable, reliable firmware operation in production.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and coordinate domain-related activities.
- Plan and deliver projects on time within agreed quality and cost expectations.
- Document, train, and support operations and project teams while collaborating with global, internal, external, and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification such as B.E., B.Tech, M.E., or M.Tech.
- 11–14 years of experience.
- Proficiency in embedded Linux firmware development and C/C++ programming on embedded systems.
- Strong familiarity with real-time principles and significant experience with embedded development and debugging tools.
- Knowledge of the product life cycle and software development methodologies.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, teamwork, customer-focus, and self-learning skills.
- Linux device-driver and Linux Kernel experience is a plus.
- Python and/or Java programming experience, with Java preferred, is a plus.
- Knowledge of Git, Buildroot, Jenkins CI/CD, IP networking principles, and preferably IPv6 is a plus.
- Exposure to metering is an added advantage.
