Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement a test automation strategy and roadmap for multiple software products.
  • Select, create, and integrate automation frameworks and tools for unit, API/service, and UI/client testing.
  • Lead automated regression, integration, and end-to-end test suite development for client, client-server, and cloud-based simulation systems.
  • Develop test tools and harnesses for scripting, test data setup, and environment orchestration.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and enforce quality gates.
  • Coach software teams on testable application architecture, interfaces, test hooks, logging, and observability.
  • Lead test engineers, set priorities, assign work, provide technical direction, and improve test reliability and efficiency.
  • Present test strategies, plans, status, and results to customers and stakeholders.
  • Define and track automation coverage, defect, test stability, and other quality metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related experience, a master’s degree with 6 years, or a PhD with 4 years of related experience.
  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining test automation using at least one unit, API, or UI automation framework.
  • Experience building automated regression suites and integrating them into build or CI pipelines.
  • Experience leading a team of test engineers, including prioritization, work assignment, and technical direction.
  • Experience training or coaching manual testers or developers in test automation practices and tools.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance, with an interim Secret clearance required to start.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Preferred experience with C++, C#, Java, Python, unit/API/UI automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, Atlassian tools, test metrics, agile methods, and modeling and simulation systems.

  • Primary base salary range of $117,500 to $176,300, with possible overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonus eligibility.
  • Daily onsite work in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with very limited remote or hybrid work available.
  • Approximately 10% travel required.
  • No relocation assistance is available.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for positions requiring government clearance.
