Responsibilities
- Define performance metrics and response-time targets for Apple services and applications.
- Own end-user-perceived performance for one or more Media products or services.
- Analyze CPU, memory, and latency issues to identify optimization opportunities.
- Define quality guardrails and help ship fluid, responsive products and services.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams across Apple on large performance initiatives.
- Prototype and propose software designs and solutions while learning new technologies independently.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience as a Tech Lead or Architect driving cross-organizational performance programs.
- At least seven years of industry experience optimizing CPU, memory, and latency issues.
- At least seven years of experience with OS and application performance best practices across iOS, macOS, Linux, Java, Swift, and web technologies.
- At least seven years of experience using profiling, statistics, and visualization tools for performance measurement and analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Ability to influence and shepherd cross-functional teams toward shared goals.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Audio/video playback experience is preferred but not mandatory.
