Base Salary
$138k - $221k/yr
Responsibilities
- Participate in on-call rotations and use runbooks and playbooks to diagnose and resolve production issues.
- Design, build, and maintain observability dashboards and alerting based on SLIs and SLOs.
- Operate and improve the Kubernetes-based compute platform.
- Support reliable, scalable cloud infrastructure and networking across Azure and AWS.
- Investigate production incidents, conduct root-cause analysis, and complete remediation work.
- Build and operate autonomous AI agents and automation for manual SRE work.
- Review architecture and infrastructure decisions with product engineering teams before release.
- Define scalability, availability, and performance requirements for new systems.
- Maintain runbooks and documentation and help engineering teams adopt reliability and observability practices.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and safer, faster software delivery.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on understanding of Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools and autonomous agents for infrastructure and reliability work, including agent design, MCP, harnesses, context management, authorization, and guardrails.
- Practical experience defining and monitoring SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
- Cloud engineering and networking experience with AWS or Azure, including subnetting and IP addressing.
- Deep experience with at least one observability stack such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Elasticsearch.
- Strong understanding of a CI/CD system, with GitHub Actions preferred and TeamCity, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI accepted.
- Strong programming ability and experience building web applications, ideally with .NET and ASP.NET or with Python and Flask/FastAPI or Java and Spring.
- Experience with distributed systems and failure modes including retries, timeouts, and cascading failures.
- Strong production troubleshooting skills and comfort diagnosing issues under pressure.
- 8–10+ years of relevant hands-on experience.
